free shows at the getty: no age, brother reade

the curator from flavorpill's fridays off the 405 is in the know. she booked no age on 6/27/08, so louie and i started my b-day weekend with a baddass free show from no age at the pristine getty museum.

Get The Party Started

Drw and I spun the wax at Piry birthday party this weekend. Piry plays in the band Family Tree Analog and is a cool guy . It was super cool . There was like 5 bands that played and we were spinning between the bands . We just kept the party going between the bands.

Drw and I will be spinning August, 15 2008 at The Light Gallery show presented by Tondeux-Manille in Costa Mesa California. Die Rockers Die are playing so this should a cool show to drive out to the OC for .

dan deacon at the getty

there was one of those free shows at the getty last week friday... while drew joined the midnight ridazz with a bunch of friends, louie and i witnessed the "dan deacon experience"... it's basically just one dude with a bunch of electronic manipulators and 2 mics. he's one of the star punker party starters from the baltimore scene and he knows how to manipulate an audience just as well as he manipulates his table full of pedals & thingies.
there was a huge elaborate stage and lighting set-up that he didn't even use. brother reade used it later for a more mellow show.
you can see dan deacon footage here... it's gets really "cloverfield" from 1:05 - 3:35, so fast forward if you don't wanna get sick and throw up... at 5:09, his banter is hilarious as he goes into another crazily fast-paced, high-pitched tune.

you'll see why getty security started freaking out...

random thoughts

saw 'kung fu panda' last night. best animated movie i've seen. very funny. only a little saturated in asian/buddhist humor. it did bare a very close resemblance to the 1979 kung fu movie "magnificent butcher" starring Sammo Hung, in which there's a terribly racist scene which i'm not going to spoil for you. it'll make you think/say/feel: "i'm laughing, but i know it's wrong, and why am i sweating, oh my god, this is too funny because it's soooooo wrong"

for you crazy drivers in kalifornia, you can get a free headset (you just pay for shipping) from FreeHeadset.org. how many of you law-abiding citizens have tried this thing? louie tried it and he got his like the next day! it renewed my faith in humanity and it might do the same for you.

now why can't they have FreeDVDconverterBox.org? why do i need $40 coupon to go from lo-fi to hi-fi? how freakin' expensive are those converter box thingies? how do i choose which brand and model?

I got a new amp !!!! =)

has anyone ever seen a Roland Spirit 30 ? well i just got one and i love it . it was $45 buck and sounds cool .

we are looking for a place to practice or a lock out if anyone knows any let us know .
